Summer camp participation grade is the grade your child will be entering in the fall of 2025. All campers must be currently enrolled for the 2025-26 school year at Cincinnati Classical Academy. All camps are held at Cincinnati Classical Academy’s Siebenthaler campus (170 Siebenthaler Ave.) in Reading. Please enroll into camp by May 23, 2025. We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations by parents giving less than a 14-day notice. Cincinnati Classical Academy reserves the right to cancel any camp with less than 50% capacity. In the case of school-initiated cancellations, parents will receive a full refund. All participants must be toilet-trained and be able to use the restroom of their own accord. All camps run Monday through Thursday each week.

June
Dance Camp | Learning Ballet, Lyrical, and Jazz
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th
Miss Puglielli will be offering a four-day dance camp teaching students ballet, lyrical, and jazz styles of dance. Monday and Tuesday will be learning fundamental dance moves in each of the styles building upon classic technique. Wednesday we will piece together the steps we have learned of each style into dances. Thursday will be rehearsal day of the dances they have learned to perform for their families at 11:30am-12:00pm that day. All levels of dancers/non dancers are welcome for this camp!

Art Camp | Make a Joyful Noise
Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Over the course of the week, students will work with a variety of materials to draw, paint, build, and decorate music themed art. Students will even get to build their own instruments!

Mural Apprenticeship
Grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
During this summer painting opportunity, students will have the opportunity to continue the work with Miss Calvino on the classical colonnade mural project in the Sojourner Truth Auditorium.

Ballet & Beauty: A Classical Approach to Grace & Virtue | Foundations in Grace
Grades: 1st and 2nd
This gentle introduction to classical ballet invites young girls to explore beauty through movement, music, and story. Campers will learn the basic positions, simple choreography, and the joy of dancing with others. Each day includes a short lesson on a virtue such as patience, order, or joy, integrating character formation with physical grace. The week concludes with a short, informal performance for families.

Join Ms. Mears for a quick study of Thomistic philosophy and music! Together, we will grow in wonder, awe, and gratitude as we study Thomas Aquinas’ most notable hymns, composed for the Feast of Corpus Christi. We will enjoy a field trip downtown for an architecture tour and rehearsal at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains. Finally, the CLASSICAL campers are invited to sing with the Cathedral Youth Schola as they perform these great works on Sunday, June 22. More information will be provided for interested families. New and experienced singers are welcome.

Mrs. Hofmann and Mr. Slonkosky are offering a Medieval themed camp that will offer students a combination of art and PE experiences focused on Medieval life. Students will work on a Medieval themed art project completed within the 4 days. They will alternate between long work sessions in the art room and outside on the playing field. The various physical education games and challenges will also have a medieval theme and application to ancient history and classical literature. The group will gather for a shared lunch and an afternoon read aloud and seminar discussion to conclude the day. Parents will be invited to join on the final day at 2:30 to watch a concluding team competition.

Math, Literacy, & PE Camp | Learning Games
Grades: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
Mrs. DiCristoforo and Mr. Slonkosky will be offering a day-long camp that will operate as two groups simultaneously alternating between classroom learning games focused on mathematics, literacy, and reading comprehension and then periodically switch classes with the second group that is engaged in physical education games in the gym and on the field. The combination of physical and academic learning games will give students a full day of fun and engaging learning. The whole group will be together for a shared packed lunch time and an end of the day group seminar discussion to share insights and victories from the day. Minimum of 40 students needed for camp to occur.

Foundations of Latin
Grades: 6th, 7th, 8th
This class serves as both an introduction for students who will be new to Latin in the 6th grade and as remediation for those in grades 7 & 8 who need a little extra help to understand.

Printmaking
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th
Rolling a brayer into ink is such a satisfying experience! Painting on plexiglass and pulling a print from the surface always brings a surprise! There is a lot that is fun about printmaking. Spend a week experimenting with friends trying out this great art medium. Bring a snack and your beautiful ideas, spend mornings in a cool art studio printing on paper, and fabric, and whatever else we might find!

Sewing Camp
Grades: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
Both beginner and intermediate sewing students will enjoy this fun week of machine and hand stitching. Artists will take home a patchwork cinch bag at the end of the week. All levels of sewing experience are welcome.

Sewing Camp Intermediate
Grades: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
This camp is open to students who have taken sewing previously with either Mrs. Hofmann or Miss Calvino or with permission of the instructor. Students will build on existing sewing skills as they learn how to use a pattern to make a clothing item

Foundations of English and Latin
Grades: 7th, 8th, 9th
This class is geared towards students who will be new to Classical in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. Its purpose is to get students caught up in Grammar, Composition, and Latin so that they can more quickly join the same level as the rest of their classmates.
Please note: This is a two-week course and is open to new and returning students.
