  • Bachelor of Arts, American Studies (Early Childhood & Classical Education) | Hillsdale College

Miss Ragan is a native Ohioan and grew up in Toledo. She graduated from Hillsdale College in May of 2022 with a major in American Studies and a focus on Early Childhood and Classical
Education. Throughout her time at Hillsdale College, Miss Ragan appreciated her professors as they instilled her with a love for learning. She looks forward to having the honor of cultivating the spirit of imagination and wonder that each one of her first graders possess. Learning is a lifelong journey to the one who desires to pursue it and it brings a sense of purpose and depth to one’s life. It allows us to learn from those who came before us and to gain wisdom from knowledge.

Favorite Classical Quote

“The central idea of the present book is very simple. It is that education is not primarily about the acquisition of information. It is not even about the acquisition of ‘skills’ in the conventional sense, to equip us for particular roles in society. It is about how we become more human (and therefore more free, in the truest sense of that word). This is a broader and a deeper question, but no less practical. Too often we have not been educating our humanity. We have been educating ourselves for doing rather than for being.”
