Mr. William Meriwether

Director of Fine Arts

  • Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (Miami University)
  • Minor in Arts Administration (Miami University

To say that Mr. William Meriwether has a dedicated passion for music, as well as for the arts more broadly, is an understatement. Growing up in the small town of Portsmouth, Ohio (about two hours east of Cincinnati), Mr. Meriwether was involved in every music program available to him. Marching band, concert band, jazz band, concert choir, show choir, and musical theatre productions are just a few of the ways that he would engage his ever-growing passion for music. He continued to foster his love of music by attending Miami University and studying vocal performance. During his tenure there, he honed his craft singing art songs and opera, developed an interest in musicology, and went on to pursue a career in arts administration. After some time working in administration in both the arts and education, Mr. Meriwether is incredibly excited to join the CLASSICAL team to foster students’ pursuit of the true, good, and beautiful. In his spare time, Mr. Meriwether enjoys singing with the Oratory Singers at Old St. Mary’s, playing board games, and reading the Chronicles of Narnia to his three lovely daughters.

“Education in music is most sovereign, because more than anything else rhythm and harmony find their way to the inmost soul and take strongest hold upon it, bringing with them and imparting grace.”
